About Café Uno

Café Uno’s opened its first location in December 2004, in the heart of Orangeville’s downtown Heritage area. The creation of Proprietor and Operator, Susan Chow, who brings over 30 years of personal experience in the hospitality and food service industry. Café Uno’s modern euro style design and eclectic and globally inspired cuisine, was a success right from the on set. Cafe Uno’s second location opened May 2007 in Toronto’s premiere Historic Distillery District.

Café Uno’s kitchen prepares a selection of dishes from a variety of cultural mixes. From Mediterranean and Asian to Indian and Caribbean, Café Uno’s menu brings forth the best of world cuisine. With a variety of daily specials and a fixed menu there is a choice for everyone’s palate. In addition to the eat in and take out menu, Cafe Uno offers catering services that are flexible to suit any event. From weddings, corporate meetings or more intimate functions Café Uno has been addressing the catering needs of businesses and individuals since 2004. If you are planning a special function, you are invited to call and design a custom tailored menu to complement your event.

Café Uno’s ultimate goal is to provide you with an exuberant and friendly atmosphere while experiencing a cuisine that will stimulate all your senses. The eating experience at Café Uno is one that always says welcome, buon appetite and come again.

international travel. Susan brings the best and most unique of what she has experienced from around the globe. Susan’s international career has led her to places throughout Canada, United States, France, Great Britain, Germany, Holland, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand, Indonesia, Caribbean and Central America. Susan is the third generation of restaurateurs within her family. Having grown up in the food service industry, Susan, upon completion of her formal education, worked in the corporate world for 15 years.

After her corporate career, she went on to seriously study Classical Feng Shui and where she earned the accreditation of the first certified Feng Shui Master in Canada and became widely acknowledged as North America’s foremost expert in Feng Shui (An Ancient Chinese art of living a balanced life with the environment). Susan regularly appeared in numerous radio, public speaking engagements, newspapers and magazine’s and television programs around the world including CTV’s Balance television, HGTV’s Designer Guys, Homes To Go with Peter Felico and Prime television’s Room to Grow with Amanda Eaton and Carson Arthur and was the in-house Feng Shui specialist to Feng Shui Life Television which aired on Air Canada flights and on various television stations around the world including, North, Central and South America, Australia, Europe, Singapore and New Zealand.

From corporate offices to world traveller, Susan has fallen in love with the Distillery District and decided to create a unique, comfortable destination that everyone can be a part of. If you want a friendly, casual place to tantalize your senses with a mouth watering showcased decadent dessert or a casual café fare, Europe!
